Stepping into Presence
November 24, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - November 26, 2017 @ 3:00 pm
Welcome to the second weekend in the series of RhythmKeepers retreats we are calling “A Path to Wholeness”. For many years, we have been deeply inspired by the work of anthropologist Angeles Arrien, whose life work was the study of indigenous cultures throughout the world. In her book “The Fourfold Way”, she outlines four basic healing modalities which are consistent practices in all indigenous cultures in all times and places: singing, storytelling, dancing and silence. We have incorporated all of these into our RhythmKeepers retreat framework, with the practice of TaKeTiNa rhythm journeys (group rhythmic movement) fulfilling the function of dancing.
Each of our retreats, in addition to these basic practices, has a subtheme which we explore throughout the weekend. The theme of this retreat, “Authenticity In Rhythm”, provides us with the opportunity to contemplate “What does it mean to tell the truth in my life?” With rhythm and song as a neutral non-judgemental framework, we can create a container within which to look at our lives honestly with no shame and no blame.
Give yourself the gift of slowing down for a weekend and allowing yourself to be nurtured by closeness to nature, simple nutritious food prepared with love, and a circle of fellow travellers on the Path to Wholeness.
We offer these weekends in the spirit of the gift economy, sharing in meal preparation and clean-up. The only fixed cost is $50 for food. There is no specific charge for tuition or rustic accommodation, however we will gratefully accept whatever you can joyfully offer in the way of a donation. Space is limited to 12 participants, so register early to avoid disappointment. Contact Shasta to reserve your spot.
